Maruti Victoris ADAS NOT Available With Hybrid Powertrain
Maruti is offering this safety tech only with the naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission
The Maruti Victoris has been launched in India, with prices starting from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from its sleek exterior and upmarket interior, the Victoris debuts a handful of first-time features for a Maruti car, including level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
However, there is a catch if you want this safety tech in your Victoris.

Like most other cars, ADAS in the Maruti Victoris is limited to the higher-end ZXi and ZXi (O) variants. That said, the catch is the fact that this tech is offered only with the naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission. If you had your eyes on any other powertrain, including the strong-hybrid option, then you don’t get ADAS in your Victoris.

Considering that this is a first-time feature for a Maruti, we feel that it should have been offered with the strong-hybrid option as well, even though it would drive up the prices by a notable margin.
Maruti Victoris ADAS Explained

The Maruti Victoris’ ADAS suite is a level-2 system and uses a radar and camera to scan the road ahead. It comes with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist and blind spot monitoring system.

Watch Video: Maruti Victoris Rear Seat Headroom Tested In Variants With And Without Sunroof

The roof lining in the Victoris’ variants equipped with panoramic sunroof sits slightly lower, but how much headroom is actually compromised? Find out here

The Maruti Victoris has recently entered the compact SUV space in India, introducing several new features for the brand. Along with all the tech, it definitely gets the most sought-after features, a panoramic sunroof, available with the ZXi (O) and ZXi Plus (O) variants. We recently got an opportunity to experience the rear seats of two types of Victoris: with and without the panoramic sunroof. Watch our latest CarDekho Instagram reel to see how the space differs between the two variants:https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOqVmzmEu5X/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=14&wp=822&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cardekho.com&rp=%2Findia-car-news%2Fwatch-video-maruti-victoris-rear-seat-headroom-tested-in-variants-with-and-without-sunroof-35093.htm#%7B%22ci%22%3A2%2C%22os%22%3A637277.0999999046%7D
As demonstrated in the video, a passenger with a height of 5’9’’ tested the space in both versions of the Victoris. In the non-sunroof variant, there was a small gap between the head and the roof. However, in the panoramic sunroof variant, that gap disappears as the roof lining sits slightly lower. This means the headroom in the Victoris equipped with a panoramic sunroof is compromised, compared to that in non-sunroof version. Even with variants without the panoramic sunroof, headroom would still be tight for anyone measuring six-feet and above.

Apart from headroom, you get ample knee room and legroom, and the under thigh support also feels adequate for an average Indian adult. Rear AC vents and a centre armest add to the comfort levels.
Features On Offer

In terms of features, the Victoris is decked up with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a head-up display (HUD), an 8-speaker Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos support, a wireless phone charger and auto AC with rear vents. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting and a powered tailgate.
Passenger safety is taken care of by 6 airbags (as standard), hill descent control, a 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors and a Level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite (limited to petrol-AT variants). It’s worth noting that the Victoris has already achieved an impressive 5-star safety rating in both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP crash tests.
Powertrain Options
Maruti offers the Victoris with three powertrain options: mild hybrid petrol, strong hybrid, and CNG. The detailed engine specifications are as follows:
| Engine | 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine | 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine | 1.5-litre petrol+CNG option |
| Power | 103 PS | 116 PS (combined) | 88 PS |
| Torque | 139 Nm | 141 Nm | 121.5 Nm |
| Transmission | 5-speed MT, 6-speed AT | e-CVT | 5-speed MT |
| Drivetrain | Front-wheel-drive, All-wheel-drive (AT Only) | Front-wheel-drive | Front-wheel-drive |

CVT – Continuously variable automatic transmission
Price And Competition

The Maruti Victoris is priced from Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India, introductory). It takes on the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate.

Maruti offers the Victoris with three powertrain options: 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol, 1.5-litre CNG, and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid

The Maruti Victoris is the newest compact SUV in Maruti’s lineup, retailed via its Arena chain of dealerships. This compact SUV is being offered in a variety of powertrain options, including mild-hybrid petrol, strong hybrid, and even a CNG. The mild-hybrid petrol also comes with an optional AWD (all-wheel-drive) drivetrain.
With so many choices on offer, deciding on the right one can be a challenge for customers. But before we get into which powertrain is best for you, let’s first check out the detailed powertrain specifications for the Maruti Victoris:

Which One Is Best For You?
Watch the CarDekho reel below to understand which powertrain of the Maruti Victoris best suits your needs:https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOyErjLEkLW/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=14&wp=822&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cardekho.com&rp=%2Findia-car-news%2Fwatch-video-which-engine-option-of-maruti-victoris-is-the-right-one-for-you-35083.htm#%7B%22ci%22%3A3%2C%22os%22%3A638321.4000000954%7D
As demonstrated in the video, the regular 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine is ideal for both city commutes and highway cruising, offering a smooth and refined driving experience. The manual transmission is easy to use, though the 6-speed automatic adds an extra layer of convenience. If you’re looking for a more cost-effective alternative with the manual, the CNG variant is a solid choice. Thanks to its underbody CNG tank, the Victoris also manages to retain full boot space, which is a notable advantage.

The mild hybrid petrol also comes with an optional AWD (all-wheel-drive) drivetrain with automatic transmission, but do note that it’s best to handle mild off-road and uneven terrain with ease. Also, if you don’t have a budget cap and are looking for performance and good efficiency, the strong hybrid should be your ideal choice.
